In a unexpected partnership that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A mysterious confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.

The mission focuses on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Third Free Story Addition

The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
